Albums I Just Bought

Yeah sorry it’s not new Cat Boss stuff but.

Recently I decided to splurge on Albums By Friends because I’ve been putting off buying them for way too long and also because they are good??

this isn’t under a readmore because really you should get all of these albums okay, they are absolute steals.

Namesake - The latest Clark Powell release! Clark’s pretty great you guys?? If you enjoyed “Flare” and “Austin, Atlantis” and (possibly more to the point) “Lancer,” you’re gonna like this album. It’s much less electronic and much more acoustic stuff but still has the same ClarkSoothe^TM technology.

The Liminal Descent - By Thomas Ferkol aka Eidolon Orpheus. Okay so basically Thomas is one of my favourite musicians ever by virtue of how unique his songs always sound; it’s the perfect fusion of orchestral and electronic elements resulting in a haunting atmosphere that really no one has really replicated. If you liked Earthen Scar check this shit out.

Element - IMO, Scott’s not really that well-known in the Homestuck fandom, at least on the music front, which is a goddam shame because he’s a pretty kickass percussionist and composer. You like marimbas? This album’s got marimbas out the wazoo. It might sound kinda simple but it’s a nice, charming little thing.

Skywalker EP - Astro Kid needs no introductions. Remember Crystalmethequins? Yeah you better remember that shit cause it’s great. You’d better not write him off as a cookie-cutter EDM producer or w/e either because I will kick you. He’s bloody versatile okay. (I don’t think anyone actually says that but just in case!)

Rainbow Tip - There’s basically no such thing as two hrmnzr songs that sound the same. And that makes Rainbow Tip really really fun to listen to?? Like… actually you know what, I can’t really think of the words for this. Just go listen to the album. hrmnzr’s great and that’s all there really is to say on the matter.

Spiritwake OST - Beginning with Prospit and Derse, Solatrus has been kinda moving away from the whole Drum&Bass kinda thing he used to make. Is that good or bad? The answer is it’s GLORIOUS. Also he’s really good at writing percussion. If you ask me, anyway. Listen to Tempest and/or Last Seeker (Reprise) and weep.

My Crooked Smile - Samm Neiland has a wonderful voice. Also, his stuff reminds me of bands like Porcupine Tree and Radiohead. Maybe the former more than the latter, actually? W/e I’d describe it as synthrock or something. It’s great. Also he’s working on a thing which makes me really excited for it because excite okay
